RE-CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
PART I. NUMBER OF CLOCK HOURS REQUIRED
FOR YOUR FIRST AND SECOND RE-CERTIFICATION:
The Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor (CCGC) must complete thirty-six (36) clock
hours of education for their first and second re-certification. The distribution of the
hours is as follows:
A) Twenty-four (24) clock hours which addresses compulsive
gambling can include any Core Areas as outlined for Initial Certification. The twenty-four
(24) hours can be obtained from the following sources: workshops, seminars, in-service and
college offerings. Verification of the clock hours must accompany the Re-certification
application. An applicant must obtain a "C" or above for college offerings and
B) The remaining twelve (12) clock hours of education are to
address alcoholism, drug abuse or addiction, psychology or sociology. The twelve (12)
clock hours can be obtained from the following sources: workshops, seminars, in-seen/ice
and college offerings. An applicant must obtain a "C" or above for college
offerings. The ACGCCB will accept any State certified chemical certification board
approved training. Verification of these twelve (12) clock hours must accompany the
Rectification application.
FOR YOUR THIRD RE-CERTIFICATION AND THEREAFTER:
The Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor (CCGC) must complete twenty-two (22) clock
hours of education for their third Re-certification and thereafter. The distribution of
the hours is as follows:
A) Ten (10) clock hours which addresses compulsive gambling
can
include any Core Areas as outlined for Initial Certification. The ten (10) hours can be
obtained from the following sources: workshops, seminars, in-service and college
offerings. Verification of the clock hours must accompany the Re-certification
application. An applicant must obtain a "C" or above for college offerings and

PART II: RE-CERTIFICATION APPLICATION DUE DATE
The CCGC must submit all Re-certification materials every two (2) years.
Re-certification renewal and fees will be required on April 1st.
PART III: RE-CERTIFICATION FEE
A non-refundable re-certification fee of $120.00 is to be submitted with
the re-certification application.
